Basic Quinoa

  • 1 1/2 cups red, white, or tri-colored quinoa

  • 3 cups water

  • pinch of sea salt


  1. Rinse the quinoa

  2. Add the quinoa and water in a sauce pan

  3. Add a pinch of sea salt. Bring to a boil

  4. Cover and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes until liquid has been absorbed

  5. Remove from heat, cover, and let the quinoa rest for 5 minutes, and use fork to fluff it up


  • Can add nuts and seeds for added crunch

  • If using for breakfast, add in nuts or seeds with berries

  • If using for a savory meal, add in a teaspoon of olive oil, garlic, pepper, and oregano
